A utility pole, as the name suggests, is a pole for carrying electric wires. It appears in various rural areas, fields, roads, and streets, and is one of the important infrastructures in early China. The various early utility poles all started from wooden poles, including high-voltage poles with not too high voltage levels. Later, due to the development of steel and reinforced concrete, along with technical requirements, these two materials replaced most wooden poles, and suitable wood gradually became scarce, making it difficult to see wooden poles in cities. However, in some less developed areas, wooden poles are still used for telephone lines because they are lightweight, easy to install, and the load and tension of telephone lines are small.
